Speech and Language Therapy at Ysgol Bryn Castell
Bea Trigg is the Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) based at Ysgol Bryn Castell on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Her role as an SLT is to work with students at YBC that require additional support with their speech, language and communication skills. This may include:
• Speech sound work
• Understanding of language (receptive language)
• Using language to express themselves (expressive language)
• Vocabulary
• Social communication skills
• Emotional understanding.
Bea may work with the children and young people:
* Directly in:
o one-to-one sessions
o small group sessions
o the classroom environment
* Indirectly by:
o Training the staff at YBC to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting students with Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
o Working to develop and enhance the communication environment within school, to ensure all students can access school activities
