Key Stage 5 / Post 16

Welcome to the Key Stage 5 / Post 16 Curriculum page.

The post-16 curriculum meets the requirements of 14-19 Learning Pathways and a broad range of options is offered through participation with the Partnership Exchange and collaboration with partner schools/ College/alternative providers at 14-19. The Post-16 department offers over 40 courses and has been very successful in reducing the number of pupils who become NEETs.

The department continually evaluate pupil voice and outcomes and create new opportunities and courses to meet these needs. YBC are working with Johnson and Johnson to create a STEM area to deliver a qualification around manufacturing processes to promote the successful entry of our pupils into the work.

Similarly, the development of the coffee shop as an area to deliver qualifications in customer service and enterprise has gone from strength to strength, having received a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 by the Food Standards Agency, becoming a meeting place for a wide range of staff and pupils and catering for external events within school.
